Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/d)
What to Expect:
Tesla Engineering Germany GmbH is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to drive the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for Tesla Energy Products. This role will be instrumental in scaling production from early prototypes to full-volume manufacturing, ensuring efficiency, quality, and innovation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in process development, statistical analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support new product introductions (NPI) and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
- Identify appropriate processes early in the design process and give DFM Feedback to design team
- Validate and optimize processes from early prototype builds through large-scale production, ensuring cost-effective manufacturing
- Identify critical process parameters and quality attributes, and conduct experiments using Design of Experiments (DOE) methods to identify acceptable process windows
- Hands-on testing of production processes by developing and executing customized evaluation measures, including defining process parameters, quantifying results, and implementing optimized manufacturing processes
- Monitor and reduce process variation using techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various design teams to ensure manufacturability, resolve technical challenges, and support new product introductions (NPI) for energy products
What You’ll Bring:
- BS/MS in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar, with direct responsibility for developing, deploying, ramping, and optimizing complex assembly processes in automated high-volume production environments
- Strong working knowledge of statistical analysis and proficiency in using tools like MySQL, Python or Tableau to make data-driven decisions and drive business results
- Hands-on skills with production equipment, general electromechanical systems and measurement techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly
