Project Topic: Changes in Transcriptionally Active Complexes Under Therapy and Their Impact on Tumor Cell Biology
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student (m/f/d) with a background in natural sciences to join our research team at the Institute of Pathology (Heidelberg University Hospital). The project is funded by the Wilhelm Sander Foundation for 2 years, with the possibility of an extension for an additional 2 years.

Your tasks
Using proteomic analyses, we aim to investigate the composition of transcription factor complexes in liver cancer cells. Liver cancer ranks third among the deadliest cancers worldwide with limited therapeutic options and poor prognosis. We are particularly interested in the dynamic processes and changes in cancer-relevant transcription factor complexes observed under therapeutic conditions. Such changes could be relevant for developing resistance mechanisms or could serve as potential new points-of-interference for therapy.
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, or a related field
- Solid practical experience in cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry
- Desirable: knowledge of programming languages such as R and bioinformatics analysis
- Strong analytical thinking, high motivation, and scientific curiosity
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
- Team spirit, strong communication skills, and a cooperative working style
