Are you passionate about advancing spatial biology through cutting-edge bioinformatics? The Neuropathology Department at Heidelberg University Hospital, a global leader in molecular diagnostics and omics research, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to pioneer the integration of spatial proteomics, spatial transcriptomics, and digital pathology data to uncover novel biological insights.
In this unique position, you will play a key role in developing innovative workflows for spatial omics data integration. Working closely with wet lab scientists who are establishing the latest technological advancements in spatial omics, you will have the unique opportunity to drive method development while contributing directly to the translational impact of precision diagnostics and research in brain cancer.

Your tasks
As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will:
- Develop cutting-edge bioinformatics workflows to integrate spatial proteomics, spatial transcriptomics, and digital pathology images, enabling the assessment of cellular heterogeneity and tissue architecture in brain cancer.
- Combine existing tools with novel approaches to analyze spatially resolved molecular interactions across multiple omics layers.
- Collaborate closely with wet lab scientists driving method development to synergize expertise and achieve optimal results.
Your Profile
- A PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in large-scale omics data analysis, preferably MS-based proteomics or spatial transcriptomics.
- Strong programming (Python / R) and analytical skills, with proficiency in bioinformatics tools, statistics and machine learning.
- A creative and problem-solving mindset, capable of translating complex datasets into actionable workflows and meaningful biological insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
