For our location in Freiburg in Breisgau, we are looking for a Process Development Engineer (m/f/d) - Wafer Management.

At NexWafe, we are developing a pioneering process to produce silicon wafers for PV appliances with fewer process steps, resulting in significant savings in production costs, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. Your Mission

  • Coordinating the entire EpiNex post-process, including managing internal operators and engineers and communicating with external partners.
  • Understand the entire EpiNex process chain and EpiNex wafer specifications to meet customer requirements, including adjusting process parameters in any part of the process chain to produce specific wafers.
  • Continue to develop and optimize the post-process for time savings, handling simplification and process optimization.
  • Further development and optimization of storage systems for EpiNex wafers.
  • Continuous review of implemented characterization methods and resulting data to improve all parts of the process.
  • Expand the post-process and storage systems to include wafers from alternative routes.
  • Train team members and external partners on relevant procedures.
  • Communicate and document procedures, including the creation of SOPs and protocols.

Your profile

  • Degree in science or engineering (physics, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of process development and materials analysis.
  • Thorough and structured work approach.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Industrial experience a plus.
  • Silicon photovoltaic experience is a plus.
